Stadium shuttle

Free bus services for Knights fans will run at regular intervals from two hours prior to kick off from selected bus stops along the route. Return services will run for around half an hour after full-time. Catch one of the five stadium shuttle services to get to Knights games at McDonald Jones Stadium in 2022.

Note: the stadium shuttle 1 will turn left onto Tudor Street from Parry Street and stop at Tudor Street at Beaumont Street.

  • Stadium shuttle 1 – Newcastle CBD with stops at Queens Wharf, King Street at Bolton Street, Civic Park, Marketown and Tudor Street at Beaumont Street.
     
  • Stadium shuttle 2 – Charlestown/Belmont  with stops at Charlestown Square and Westfield Kotara. Two services will start from Belmont on the Pacific Highway at Macquarie Street, also stopping on Pacific Highway at Groves Road.
     
  • Stadium shuttle 3 – Glendale with stops at Stockland Glendale, Cardiff Station and Lookout Road at McCaffrey Drive.
     
  • Stadium shuttle 4 – Wallsend with stops at Wallsend Village, Newcastle Road at Blue Gum Road and Newcastle Road at Dent Street.
     
  • Stadium shuttle 5 – Mayfield with stops at Wests Mayfield, Mayfield shops, Waratah Station and Waratah Village.

You can also catch any of our regular bus services to the game. The closest bus stops to the stadium are on Turton Road and Lambton Rd. Regular routes 27,13, 23, 25 and 26 run towards the stadium.

What is the Knights shuttle service?

The Knights shuttle service is a free bus service which will operate throughout the 2022 Newcastle Knights season. There are five main routes departing Belmont, Glendale, Wallsend, Mayfield and Newcastle CBD, with the service dropping off fans out the front of McDonald Jones Stadium.

Do I need to pay or use my Opal card to access the service?

How often do services run?

Services to McDonald Jones Stadium will begin two hours prior to kick off every game day and run every 15 minutes until the game starts.

After the game the last service will depart McDonald Jones Stadium, approximately half an hour after the game finishes.

Timetables for each game are available from the table at the top of the page.

Where do I catch the shuttle after the match?

The shuttle service will be available directly out the front of the stadium on Turton Road for half an hour after the match.

Each route will be signposted and way-finding signage directs passengers from the front of the stadium to the shuttle bus zone. Customer service officers will also be available to assist in locating your preferred service.

Do normal services still run during the Knights shuttle?

Yes, normal timetabled services will continue to operate in conjunction with the Knights shuttle service.

The closest bus stops to the stadium are on Turton Road and Lambton Rd. A number of regular route buses run towards the stadium including Routes 27,13, 23, 25 and 26.
